Cannon Beach (Oregon coast)
This beloved Oregon beach features the 235 foot tall Haystack Rock- the third tallest intertidal structure in the world. The surrounding forests and cliffs only add to the allure. Ocean temperatures here year round range from 48-62 degrees Fahrenheit so you will need a wetsuit to be comfortable.
Cape Kiwanda (Oregon coast)
This unique coastal headland about 2 hours west of Portland is most notable for its 250 foot tall sand dune. Hike up to the top for incredible views up and down the coast. Other popular activities here include surfing, tide pooling, & whale watching. Cape Kiwanda is part of the 40 mile Three Capes Scenic Route.




Deception Pass - Puget Sound (Washington)
This famous bridge connects Fidalgo and Whidbey Islands in the northern reaches of the Puget Sound in Washington state. Deception Pass State Park offers camping and hiking. Nearby in Anacortes, the ferry terminal is a gateway to the gorgeous San Juan Islands where whale watching is the main draw.
Olympic Peninsula beaches (Washington)
With 73 miles of rugged coastline, the Olympic Peninsula offers some of the most stunning beaches in the Pacific Northwest. Some crowd favorites are Ruby Beach, Rialto Beach, Kalaloch Beach, Shi Shi Beach, and La Push Beaches. Always check the NPS website for closures & camping.
